Bullfighting
Readers Discretion is advised
Bullfighting is viewed by the Spanish as a tradition but really is an unnecessary ruthless murder, killing over 250,000 bulls a year.
Bullfighting is a gory sport that murders countless bulls and disturbs many people. In bullfighting the tradition is started when the bull is taunted into the arena by the Matador and the bull is approached by picadors (men on horses), who drives lances into the bulls back and neck muscles. After the picadors finish stabbing the bulls it makes it impossible for the bull to get up or lift its neck. They twist the lances so the bull loses a significant amount of blood. After blood loss has injured the bull, the banderilleros run the bull in more circles until he becomes dizzy and stops chasing. As a conclusion, the matador tries to deliver the final blow, or estocada. If he deliberately misses, further mutilating he bull, he will call an executor to continually stab bull to death. If the act is favored by the crowd, the bull’s ears and tail will be cut off as a gift to the matador. After that process repeats. Therefore for the viewer’s state of mind we should ban bullfighting.
Another reason to ban bullfighting is because of the animals rights. The animal rights law states that “a person is guilty of animal neglect when he has custody or ownership or both of an animal and fails to provide adequate care or adequate control, which results in substantial harm to the animal.” Law states that if you fail to take care of an animal you will be charged for animal cruelty. There are different levels of animal cruelty with different degrees of punishments “Animal neglect and abandonment is a class C misdemeanor upon first conviction and for each offense, punishable by imprisonment or a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars, or both, and a class B misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment or a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars, or both upon the second and all subsequent convictions.” According to these statements, from the animal rights laws bullfighting is a violation to animals. Spain has not yet passed that law to protect the bulls.
As a conclusion bullfighting is a very gory and abusive sport for humans and bulls. If there is no bullfighting, if Spain passed laws to protect the bulls rights, if bullfighting was only a myth then bulls would not be a scarcity in Spain and a lot of peoples point of veiw on Spain would change.
